State Representative Kelly Keisling Announces More Than $17,000 In Court Security Grant Funding For Scott County

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) — State Representative Kelly Keisling (R-Byrdstown) today announced that Scott County will receive $17,643 in grant funding through the Administrative Office of The Courts (AOC) Court Security Grant Program for security upgrades at their local courthouse facility.

The funding — which requires a 10 percent local match — will be used for a bulletproof bench, bulletproof security point, as well as metal detectors. It was awarded during a competitive grant process and will bring dozens of communities across Tennessee — including Scott County — up to minimum safety standards while supplying measures that will inevitably enhance security for years to come.

“I am grateful that our community was selected to receive this vital funding through an extremely competitive process,” said Representative Keisling. “The monies will address safety concerns for residents who utilize our facility; they will also create an environment that will allow members of our local judicial system to focus on their important tasks instead of worrying about their well-being.”
