State Representative Robin Smith Passes First Bill In House Chamber

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) — State Representative Robin Smith (R-Hixson) has officially passed her first bill as a member of the Tennessee General Assembly and the House Republican Caucus.

As introduced, House Bill 422 clarifies the licensure process for Tennessee’s nurses. It is the latest in a series of Republican-led initiatives to improve the quality of care available to citizens of this state.

“Nurses take care of our patients with heart and talent, and it is important that we protect them,” said Representative Smith. “As a former nurse, I am proud this legislation passed the House with strong support, and I encourage my Senate colleagues to pass this legislation quickly so it can be signed by the Governor.”
