State Rep. John Crawford, R-Bristol/Kingsport, today announced he has successfully secured $1 million in state funding for the city of Bristol to support the construction of a new public skate park.
The investment marks a major step forward in Bristol’s efforts to enhance recreational opportunities for local youth and families, while also promoting active lifestyles and community engagement.
“I’m proud to help deliver this critical investment for our community,” Crawford said. “The new skate park will offer a safe, modern space for recreation and improve the quality of life in Bristol.”
The appropriated funds are part of a $59.8 billion balanced budget that was passed by the General Assembly in April. Republican priorities included making significant investments in community services, disaster relief for Hurricane Helene victims, rural hospital support and health care investments, safety and security improvements and transportation infrastructure needs while also providing more than $640 million to K-12 education.
