(NASHVILLE) — State Representative Matthew Hill (R-Jonesborough) and members of the Northeast Tennessee Legislative Delegation partnered with the Table of Honor Program Saturday evening for an event designed to raise awareness for area veterans and to support the Honor Flight Network.
According to its website, The Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing veterans with honor and closure by transporting our nation’s brave military heroes to Washington DC at no cost so they can visit memorials created in honor of their service and sacrifices. Priority is given to senior veterans including World War II survivors, along with those who are terminally ill.
Proceeds from this evening’s Table of Honor event will help cover the cost of an October trip to our nation’s capital for our local veterans.
“It is an incredible honor to support our brave heroes who have made tremendous sacrifices in the name of freedom,” said Representative Hill. “They are the reason that we live in the greatest nation our world has ever seen. Tonight is a small way we can thank our veterans by supporting a program that provides a unique opportunity for them to visit these historic memorials dedicated to their bravery.”
