NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Mary Littleton, R-Dickson, announced $2.25 million in state funding was awarded to the Town of White Bluff for a new nature park.
The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) will administer the grant through the Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF) which was approved by the General Assembly in the 2025-26 state budget.
“The new nature park will offer exciting opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors while connecting with others,” Littleton said. “This is a big win for White Bluff and the surrounding communities. Congratulations to the local leaders who have worked tirelessly to bring this project to life, and thank you to TDEC for supporting our community.”
White Bluff Nature Park is a proposed 50-acre nature park located in the heart of White Bluff, according to the town’s website.
Town leaders plan to use the funds to construct a new entrance road, parking, outdoor classrooms, outdoor event facilities and restore an existing pump house and windmill.
The LPRF program provides state funding to match local government investments for recreation projects and the purchase of land for parks, natural areas, greenways and recreational facilities.
