NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Clark Boyd, R-Lebanon, has announced $353,625 in state funding for the city of Lebanon to improve the Don Fox Community Park.
The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) will administer the grant through the Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF). The funding was approved by members of the Tennessee General Assembly this year in the 2025-26 state budget.
“The Don Fox Park is an excellent place for families to get outdoors, stay active and be a part of the community. This significant grant will help enhance accessibility for residents and visitors and boost the overall experience at the facility,” said Boyd. “I’m grateful to the Recreation Department for their dedication to improving the quality of life in Lebanon and I look forward to the completion of this project.”
The LPRF grant will be used to make Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements around the playground and for new poured-in-place surfacing. Boyd in 2024 announced a $350,000 LPRF grant to install a 6,000 square foot splash pad at Don Fox Park.
The state’s funding matches local government investments to help expand access to outdoor opportunities and improve quality of life for Tennesseans. City and county governments can receive LPRF grants for trail development and capital projects in parks, greenways and natural areas. Additionally, the funds can be used to purchase land for eligible projects.
More than $22 million was administered to 33 communities across the state by TDEC through the LPRF program, the Tennessee Recreation Initiative Program (TRIP) and the Recreational Trails Program (RTP).
State Rep. Clark Boyd represents District 46 in the Tennessee House of Representatives, which includes part of Wilson County.
