State Rep. Michael Hale, R-Smithville, will continue his work addressing child hunger by hosting the second summer hunger summit at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Smithville City Hall, 104 E. Main Street.
The event will bring together community leaders, elected officials and residents from DeKalb and Cannon counties to tackle food insecurity, focusing on child hunger.
“Building on the progress we’ve made, this summit is a vital opportunity for our community to come together, identify challenges and create lasting solutions to ensure no child goes hungry,” Hale said. “We’ve seen what’s possible when we work together and I’m confident we can keep moving forward to make an even greater impact.”
Attendees will join group discussions to identify gaps in food access and develop long-term strategies to support families.
The free summit is open to the public and no registration is required.
