State Rep. Michele Reneau, R-Signal Mountain, was officially sworn in to represent House District 27 in the 114th Tennessee General Assembly.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Michele Reneau, R-Signal Mountain, was officially sworn in to represent House District 27 in the 114th Tennessee General Assembly.

Reneau, a small business owner and Navy veteran spouse, has dedicated much of her life to serving the communities she’s called home. She’s worked with organizations such as Isaiah 117 House and Harvesting Inclusive Play. In her personal life, she is a proud wife and mother to five children.

“I’m truly blessed to represent District 27 in the Tennessee House of Representatives,” Reneau said. “Thank you to my community for trusting me to be their voice at the state level. I look forward to working on legislation that will improve the lives of all Tennesseans.”

She was appointed Thursday by House Speaker Cameron Sexton, R-Crossville, to serve on the Government Operations Committee, Transportation Committee, and the Transportation Subcommittee for the next two years.

Reneau joins the 75-member Republican supermajority, and is one of nine freshmen lawmakers in the House of Representatives. 

The General Assembly will convene for a special session on school choice, disaster relief for communities impacted by Hurricane Helene and illegal immigration on Jan. 27.
