NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Clark Boyd, R-Lebanon, was reappointed Jan. 16 by House Speaker Cameron Sexton, R-Crossville, to serve as chairman of the House Business and Utilities Subcommittee for the 114th Tennessee General Assembly. 

“Representative Clark Boyd has been a steadfast advocate for Tennessee’s businesses,” said Sexton. “As chairman of the Business and Utilities Subcommittee, Clark’s leadership will be critical in fostering economic growth, ensuring reliable public utilities and working with our energy counterparts for the betterment of our state and citizens.”

The Business and Utilities Subcommittee is an arm of the Commerce Committee, which is responsible for legislative oversight of laws related to state regulatory boards, taxes, corporations, banks and other financial institutions, general business, interest rates, utilities, communications and trade.

“I thank Speaker Sexton for his confidence in me to continue serving as chair of this subcommittee,” Boyd said. “The issues we consider have a real-world impact on the lives of Tennesseans, which is a responsibility I certainly do not take lightly. I look forward to furthering our work to streamline government, lower prices and make all citizens of the Volunteer State more prosperous.”

Boyd, a United States Army veteran and Lebanon small business owner, has represented District 46 in the House of Representatives since 2018.

During the 114th General Assembly, Boyd will also serve on the Commerce Committee and Finance, Ways and Means Committee.

The 114th General Assembly officially convened on Jan. 14 and completed its organizational meeting with the appointment of committees by Speaker Sexton.

State Rep. Clark Boyd represents House District 46, which includes part of Wilson County.
