State Rep. Rick Eldridge, R-Morristown, has been appointed by House Speaker Cameron Sexton, R-Crossville, to serve as chairman of the House Departments & Agencies Subcommittee for the 114th General Assembly.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Rick Eldridge, R-Morristown, has been appointed by House Speaker Cameron Sexton, R-Crossville, to serve as chairman of the House Departments & Agencies Subcommittee for the 114th General Assembly.
Eldridge was first elected to the State House in 2019. Previously, he served on the Hamblen County Commission for eight years, including two years as chairman. In his personal life, he is a proud husband and father to two children.
“It is an honor to be selected to chair the Department & Agencies Subcommittee and I’m grateful to Speaker Sexton for trusting me to serve,” Eldridge said. “I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues to ensure our departments and agencies are running efficiently.”
The eight-member Departments & Agencies Subcommittee is an arm of the House State & Local Government Committee and deals with legislation relating to matters involving state departments and agencies.
“Representative Eldridge has shown exceptional leadership and a commitment to efficient governance,” Sexton said. “As chairman of the Departments and Agencies Subcommittee, Rick will play a critical role in ensuring accountability and effectiveness across state operations.”
This will be Eldridge’s first term as chair of the Departments & Agencies Subcommittee. He spent the last three terms as vice-chairman of the State & Local Government Committee.
Along with his House chairmanship, he will serve as the vice-chairman of the Joint Judiciary and Government Committee, which includes members of the House and Senate.
He will also serve on the State & Local Government Committee, Judiciary Committee and Public Service Subcommittee.
