State Rep. Brock Martin, R-Huntingdon, today announced he has successfully secured $6.8 million in state funding for the city of Milan to support economic development through the purchase of a new industrial park.

The investment marks a major step forward in Milan’s efforts to attract new businesses, create jobs and strengthen the local economy.

“This funding is a game-changer for Milan,” Martin said. “The acquisition of an industrial park will help us compete for major economic development projects and provide long-term opportunities for growth. I’m proud to support a budget that prioritizes rural communities and helps build a stronger future for West Tennessee.”

The appropriated funds are part of a $59.8 billion balanced budget that was passed by the General Assembly in April. Republican priorities included making significant investments in community services, disaster relief for Hurricane Helene victims, rural hospital support and health care investments, safety and security improvements and transportation infrastructure needs while also providing more than $640 million to K-12 education.
