State Rep. Dennis Powers, R-Jacksboro, announced arts organizations in Campbell and Union counties will receive a combined $47,940 in state grants to support arts education and outreach efforts.

The Campbell Culture Coalition will receive $12,800. Postmark LaFollette will receive three grants totaling $27,640 and the Union County Opry will receive $7,500. The Tennessee Arts Commission administers the grants.

“These grants are a great investment in our communities,” Powers said. “They help expand access to the arts, preserve local culture and provide meaningful opportunities for people of all ages to engage with creative programs.”

The funding comes from $12.3 million approved in the state’s 2025-26 budget by the Tennessee General Assembly for arts initiatives in all 95 counties.

“Tennessee is fortunate to be a state where few can rival the breadth and depth of its arts and culture,” said Anne B. Pope, executive director of the Tennessee Arts Commission. “Arts and culture are vital tools for attracting and retaining businesses and help build stronger communities by enhancing the distinctive character of Tennessee places.”

The commission selects recipients through a competitive process that includes review by citizen advisory panels with expertise in various arts disciplines, followed by approval from the full commission.

Tennessee’s nonprofit arts and culture sector generates $1.4 billion in annual economic activity, supports more than 23,400 full-time equivalent jobs, and contributes significantly to education, tourism and local development.
