State Rep. Kevin Raper, R-Cleveland, today announced the Bradley County Committee on Aging will receive a $50,000 state grant to expand programming, upgrade facilities and support routine operating expenses for older adults in the community.

The funding is administered by the Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging (DDA) as part of a $5 million initiative to support 125 senior centers statewide. The grants were approved in the 2025–26 state budget, which includes a $42.5 million allocation to strengthen emergency and community services for Tennessee’s aging population.

“Our senior centers are an important part of keeping older Tennesseans connected and active,” Raper said. “This investment will allow the Bradley County Committee on Aging to expand opportunities and improve its facilities so it can better serve our community.”

Centers receive between $10,000 and $50,000 through the DDA’s competitive grant program. Funds may be used for building improvements, equipment, marketing, programming, activities and other operational costs, excluding staff salaries.
