State Rep. Kirk Haston, R-Lobelville, announced $481,182 in grant funding has been awarded for renovations at the Chester County Courthouse in Henderson. 

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Kirk Haston, R-Lobelville, announced $481,182 in grant funding has been awarded for renovations at the Chester County Courthouse in Henderson. 

The funding, administered by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) through the Tennessee Historic Development Grant Program (HDGP), will help local communities preserve and restore historic courthouses.  

“For generations, the Chester County Courthouse has served as a cornerstone of our community, and this investment will ensure it continues to do so,” Haston said. “I am grateful to TNECD for recognizing the importance of preserving our shared heritage and I look forward to the positive impact this project will have.”

In this round of funding, more than $5 million was awarded to 11 counties across the state by TNECD for courthouse renovation projects. Applications were reviewed within the department and by the Tennessee Historical Commission (THC).
