Biography


Fred Atchley's extensive career in public service spans decades, beginning with his role at the Sevier County Sheriff's Office and culminating in his retirement as Battalion Chief from the City of Sevierville Fire Department in 2019. Over 25 years, Fred served as a County Commissioner for the fifth district, where he was a passionate advocate for his constituents and held positions such as Chairman of the Budget Committee and Vice-Chair of the E911 Board. On November 05, 2024, he was elected to the 114th General Assembly. 

Fred's deep commitment to his community is matched by his dedication to family. He is devoted to his wife, Angela, their four children, and two grandchildren. Now as a state legislator, he is focused on further enhancing the growth and safety of District 12. His priorities include upgrading local infrastructure, enhancing public schools, strengthening public safety, and preserving conservative values.

Representative Atchley represents House District 12, which encompasses Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Pittman Center, Seymour, Wears Valley, and parts of Sevierville.
