NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Gino Bulso, R-Brentwood, was appointed Jan. 16 by House Speaker Cameron Sexton, R-Crossville, to serve as chairman of the House Naming and Designating Committee for the 114th Tennessee General Assembly.
“As chairman of the Naming and Designating Committee, I am confident that Representative Bulso’s leadership will ensure the thoughtful recognition of individuals, places, and events that hold significance for our state,” said Sexton. “Gino’s dedication to this role reflects his respect for Tennessee’s history and its people, and he will be a strong advocate in protecting our heritage.”
The Naming and Designating Committee is responsible for the naming and dedication of state buildings and facilities.
“The preservation of our state’s rich cultural heritage and unique history is incredibly important,” Bulso said. “In a time when many states are erasing their history, I am committed to protecting Tennessee’s to ensure that future generations can learn from and honor the past. I am proud to serve as chairman of this committee and I thank Speaker Sexton for the opportunity.”
Bulso in 2024 sponsored legislation designating ten different works with historic, social and cultural importance to Tennessee as the first official state books, including “American Lion,” by Jon Meacham, the Aitken Bible, and “Coat of Many Colors,” by Dolly Parton.
During the 114th General Assembly, Bulso will also serve on the Education Committee, K-12 Subcommittee, Judiciary Committee, Joint Judiciary and Government Committee, Children and Family Affairs Subcommittee, and the Calendar and Rules Committee.
Bulso, an attorney and managing partner of Bulso, PLC in Brentwood, has represented District 61 in the House of Representatives since 2022.
