NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Scott Cepicky, R-Culleoka, was reappointed Jan. 16 by House Speaker Cameron Sexton, R-Crossville, to serve as chair of the House Education Instruction Subcommittee for the 114th Tennessee General Assembly.

“Representative Scott Cepicky is a passionate advocate for education in Tennessee,” said Sexton. “As chairman of the Education Instruction Subcommittee, Scott’s dedication and leadership will be key in advancing policies that enhance opportunities for students statewide.”

Cepicky will serve his second term overseeing the House Education Instruction Subcommittee, which is an arm of the House Education Committee responsible for bills relating to education. It is charged with considering legislation concerning curricula, vocational-technical education, adult education and schools up to the university level.

“Providing Tennessee students with the best education possible will remain a priority in the 114th General Assembly,” Cepicky said. “I’m proud of the progress our state has made in recent years and I look forward to finding innovative ways to improve educational outcomes. I thank Speaker Sexton for his continued confidence in me as chair of this committee.”

Cepicky, a Maury County cattle rancher, has represented District 64 in the House of Representatives since 2019. 

During the 114th General Assembly, he will also serve on the Education Committee, Education Administration Subcommittee, Insurance Committee, and TennCare Subcommittee.

The 114th General Assembly officially convened on Jan. 14 and completed its organizational meeting with the appointment of committees by Speaker Sexton.

State Rep. Scott Cepicky represents House District 64, which includes part of Maury County.
