State Rep. Tandy Darby, R-Greenfield, today announced the cities of Dresden and Sharon have been selected for the 2025 Infrastructure Planning Grant, receiving a total of $567,000 for water and sewer improvements.

Dresden will receive $357,000, while Sharon will be allocated $210,000 by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (ECD).

“Upgrading critical infrastructure like our sewer and water systems will benefit residents and businesses in our community for many years to come,” Darby said. “I am thankful for this funding and appreciate our local leaders who worked to make this investment a possibility for the people of District 76.”

The ECD has awarded a total of $7.4 million in grants to 36 communities and utility districts statewide to support long-term planning for water and sewer infrastructure.

The grant funds may be used for up to three of the following categories: water and sewer system mapping and modeling, system analysis, asset management, and regionalization studies.
