NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Tim Rudd, R-Murfreesboro, was reappointed Jan. 16 by House Speaker Cameron Sexton, R-Crossville, to serve as chair of the House Elections and Campaign Finance Subcommittee in the 114th Tennessee General Assembly.
“Representative Tim Rudd has demonstrated unwavering dedication to upholding the integrity of our electoral process,” said Sexton. “As chairman of the Elections and Campaign Finance Subcommittee, Tim’s leadership will be instrumental in ensuring fair and transparent elections throughout Tennessee.”
The Elections and Campaign Finance Subcommittee is an arm of the State and Local Government Committee, which is responsible for state laws governing local, municipal and cultural affairs, state government, and public lands. The Elections Subcommittee is charged with considering legislation that relates to state and local elections, voting, election integrity, and campaign finance.
“House Republicans have worked diligently in recent years to ensure Tennessee’s elections are fair and free of fraud,” Rudd said. “As a result, we have been ranked number one in election integrity three years in a row and Tennesseans can count on their voice being heard at the ballot box. I thank Speaker Sexton for reappointing me to chair this subcommittee and I look forward to further securing our elections.”
Rudd, a Murfreesboro real estate agent and marketing consultant, has represented District 34 in the House of Representatives since 2017. This will be his fourth term serving as chair of the seven-member committee.
During the 114th General Assembly, Rudd will also serve on the Transportation Committee and the State and Local Government Committee. He was recently appointed to the Finance, Ways, and Means Committee of 1st Extraordinary Session.
State Rep. Tim Rudd represents House District 34, which includes part of Rutherford County.
