NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Clark Boyd, R-Lebanon, has been recognized as one of the most effective legislators in the Tennessee House of Representatives for the first session of the 114th General Assembly.

Boyd, who has represented District 46 since 2018, achieved a 73% bill passage rate with 11 signed into law by Gov. Bill Lee.

“Republican legislators worked hard this session to keep Tennessee thriving,” said Boyd. “I’m honored to receive this recognition and I’m grateful to my colleagues for their support. I look forward to continuing to work with residents of Wilson County to make our community an even better place to live and raise a family.”

Boyd worked this session to bring accountability to Tennessee’s correction system, create an environment for the Volunteer State to continue leading in nuclear energy innovation, and improve efficiency and public health in Wilson County.

A new law sponsored by Boyd was inspired by a Lebanon father who tragically lost his son in a private prison in Tennessee. The measure will require 10% of a private prison’s population to be transferred to a Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) prison if the death rate is double that of an equivalent state-operated facility.

Boyd also worked to cement Tennessee’s status as a leader in clean and renewable energy by allowing nuclear energy production facilities to qualify for pollution control credits.

Another new law the General Assembly unanimously passed will allow local legislative bodies to provide property tax relief to nonprofit organizations providing housing assistance to low-income households, if at least 30% of the housing units are for veterans experiencing homelessness.

The 2025 session of the 114th General Assembly adjourned on April 22. Lawmakers will reconvene for the second session on January 13, 2026.

State Rep. Clark Boyd represents District 46 in the Tennessee House of Representatives, which includes part of Wilson County. He is chairman of the House Business and Utilities Subcommittee and also serves on the House Commerce Committee and the House Finance, Ways and Means Committee.
