NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Tom Stinnett, R-Friendsville, announced $255,517 in state funding was awarded to the Town of Louisville for improvements at the Town Hall park.

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) will administer the grant through the Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF) which was approved by the General Assembly in the 2025-26 state budget.

“The park at Town Hall has long been a space for residents to enjoy the outdoors and connect as a community,” Stinnett said. “I’m excited to see the improvements take shape and the positive impact they’ll have on the town. Thank you to TDEC for their support and congratulations to the local leaders who worked hard to make this happen.”

Town leaders plan to use the funds to construct a new park entrance, renovate an existing shaded seating area with a new 30×60 pavilion, install a sidewalk and make ADA parking improvements.

The LPRF program provides state funding to match local government investments for recreation projects and the purchase of land for parks, natural areas, greenways and recreational facilities.

For more information on the LPRF program and how to apply, visit the Office of Outdoor Recreation website at https://www.tn.gov/environment/outdoorrec.html.

Tom Stinnett represents House District 20 which includes part of Blount County.
