NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. John Crawford, R-Bristol/Kingsport, today announced more than $2.6 million in state funding for two business parks in Sullivan County.

The Industrial Development Board of Bristol received $2,537,381 for improvements at the Bristol South Industrial Park, and NETWORKS Sullivan was awarded $100,000 for the Northeast Tennessee Business Park. The Site Development Grants are administered by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) to help prepare industrial sites for business investment through infrastructure and engineering improvements.

“Industrial parks are essential to creating a strong foundation for economic growth,” said Crawford. “This significant funding will be vital in attracting more businesses to Sullivan County, creating quality jobs and more opportunities for residents. I look forward to seeing how these funds will make our community an even better place to live, work and raise a family.”

Funds for the Bristol South Industrial Park will go toward property grading and roadway improvements. The Northeast Tennessee Business Park grant will help fund due diligence studies.

Site Development Grants provide funding to improve rural economies across Tennessee. More than $13 million was administered to 13 sites across the state by TNECD in this round of funding.

State Rep. John Crawford represents District 1 in the Tennessee General Assembly, which includes part of Sullivan County.
