NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Ed Butler, R-Rickman, has secured $4 million in state funding to support a major expansion project at Livingston Municipal Airport, enhancing infrastructure and positioning the region for continued economic growth. The funding, approved by Gov. Bill Lee, will support critical airfield improvements at the city-owned, public-use general aviation airport.

“These investments are critical to ensuring our local infrastructure keeps pace with growth and opportunity,” said Butler. “I appreciate Governor Lee’s support in strengthening Livingston’s airport. This project will enhance safety, improve accessibility, and help position Overton County and the surrounding region for long-term economic development.”

Planned upgrades include safety enhancements and the construction of a parallel taxiway, allowing for additional hangar space. These improvements will accommodate an increase in aviation activity and equip the airport for aviation-related businesses to expand inside the airport footprint, advancing growth in the region.

Rep. Butler represents District 41, which includes Overton, Morgan and parts of Anderson, Fentress and Roane Counties.
