NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Kelly Keisling, R-Byrdstown, is encouraging eligible residents of counties that have sustained damage from Winter Storm Fern to apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Individual Assistance, following the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency announcement of the opening of Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs).
The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) announced that in coordination with FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration and other state and local partners, DRCs will open in Davidson, Hardin, Hickman and Madison Counties to provide support to those impacted by Winter Storm Fern. In-person assistance to answer eligibility requirements and application status questions, resolve discrepancies, and apply for FEMA aid and low-interest loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration will be available.
Residents in Clay and Macon Counties are eligible for the Federal Emergency Management Agency Individual Assistance, which provides aid for disaster-related expenses such as housing assistance, home repairs, personal property replacements and other disaster-related needs.
Mobile Registration Intake Centers (MRICs) will continue to operate at their previously scheduled locations, where only FEMA registration services will be provided. Appointments to visit Mobile Registration Intake Centers and Disaster Recovery Centers are not required.
