NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Aron Maberry, R-Clarksville, was recognized for having one of the highest bill passage rates among legislators in the Tennessee General Assembly in 2025.

In his first year as a lawmaker, Maberry achieved a 70 percent bill passage rate with legislation related to education, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), support for law enforcement and veterans treatment courts.

“I’m honored to be named alongside House leadership and veteran lawmakers as one of the most effective legislators this session,” Maberry said. “I’m grateful for the collaborative effort of my colleagues and their strong support for my initiatives. With momentum on our side, I’m committed to building on this success and continuing to serve our community and state.”

Maberry championed the Teen Social Media and Internet Safety Act which requires Tennessee public and charter schools to teach social media and internet safety lessons to middle and high school students.

Two pieces of legislation, the Dismantle DEI in Employment Act and the Dismantling DEI Departments Act, eliminated diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in Tennessee government entities and public universities to encourage merit-based hiring practices and equal opportunity.

Maberry also worked with constituents on legislation like House Bill 310, an expansion of theJames ‘Dustin’ Samples Act, to extend workers’ compensation support for law enforcement officers and first responders diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from their job.

He partnered with a local judge to expand veterans treatment court services beyond Montgomery County through House Bill 524. This new law allows eligible cases to be transferred to the county’s program, regardless of where in Tennessee the offense occurred.

The 2025 session of the 114th General Assembly adjourned on April 22.  Lawmakers will reconvene for the second session on January 13, 2026.

Aron Maberry represents House District 68 which includes part of Montgomery County. He serves on the Education Committee, K-12 Subcommittee, Transportation Committee and Government Operations Committee.
