Jobs
Under Republican leadership, Tennessee has created 243 thousand jobs, landed 1,663 economic development projects, and accumulated $58 billion in capital investment.
A good job is the base for stable families in Tennessee. House Republicans believe in creating an environment where businesses can flourish and jobs are created. The government does not create the economy, but over-regulation stalls growth. It is our job to get out of the way of the market.

Opportunity
The Volunteer State has proven herself time and time again to be a leader in this country in agriculture, business, fiscal policy, and education. From our outstanding University of Tennessee System to Tennessee College of Applied Technology, our state offers educational opportunity to set children and adults on the path to success.
The Tennessee Promise is a scholarship program focused on increasing the number of Tennessee students attending college. This scholarship gives equal opportunity to all students by ensuring two years of community college tuition is free.
Opportunity in Tennessee does not end with education. Tennessee is home to some of the country’s most renown businesses like FedEx, HCA Healthcare, Cracker Barrell, Bridgestone Tires, Oracle, and, most recently, Ford Motor.
Our fiscally conservative policies have created a thriving business environment and job market throughout our state. Tennessee is not just a place to find a job, it’s a place to start a career.
Freedom
Ronald Reagan once said, “As government expands, liberty contracts.” Tennessee House Republicans choose freedom and liberty over tyranny every day. As the federal government continues to try to strip Americans of basic freedoms, we have taken a stand to stop unlawful overreach.
Here are the ways House Republicans have protected the freedoms of Tennesseans:
- HB0786 allows law-abiding citizens who are at least 21 years old or honorably discharged or actives int eh armed forces or national guard to carry a firearm without a permit.
- HB0013 prevents a law enforcement agency, governmental entity, or governor from requiring citizens to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
- HB0580 says schools cannot promote instruction or curriculum which asserts that this state or the U.S. is fundamentally or irredeemably racist or sexist.
- HB0003 protects women’s sports by ensuring students compete in athletic competitions that correspond with their sex at birth.
- A constitutional amendment goes to a public referendum giving Tennesseans the opportunity to vote in the 2022 governor’s election to enshrine our state’s Right to Work law in the Tennessee Constitution.
