(NASHVILLE) — State Representative Susan Lynn (R-Mt. Juliet) today recognized six academic institutions in District 57 for earning Reward School status from the Tennessee Department of Education.
This status is the top distinction a school can achieve in Tennessee. Recipients include approximately 318 schools in 85 districts — 20 percent of the state’s schools — who have demonstrated improvement in overall student academic achievement as well as student growth for all students and student groups. These institutions are identified and recognized annually by the Department of Education.
Institutions honored in Wilson County include:
- Mt. Juliet High School
- West Wilson Middle School
- Stoner Creek Elementary School
- West Elementary School
- W.A. Wright Elementary School
- Elzie D. Patton Elementary School
“Reward School status is a remarkable achievement by our students, educators, and staff members at these fine institutions,” said Representative Lynn. “This important distinction is the direct result of their hard work and dedication, as well the efforts as our engaged parents, and other family members who have prioritized their roles supporting the educational development of our future leaders. I will continue to fight for additional resources that support our students, teachers, and schools in the years ahead so they can continue to achieve their goals and dreams.”
