NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Jay Reedy, R-Erin, has secured $700,000 in state funding to benefit Centerstone Military Services.
The grant will be used to provide professional behavior health services for veterans, reservists and National Guard members and their families across Tennessee. The funds may also be used within the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Centerstone in Clarksville.
“Our nation’s service members have put it all on the line to protect our fundamental freedoms and liberties,” Reedy said. “This funding will help veterans get necessary access to mental health care to help address post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, addiction and other serious medical conditions. As a veteran myself, I’m extremely proud to have helped secure this funding and I thank my colleagues for supporting our active and retired military members.”
Centerstone Military Services ensures veterans and their families have access to quality care that treats conditions service members frequently face, including anxiety and PTSD. The organization has a nationwide network of providers and support.
The appropriated funds are part of a $52.8 billion zero-debt balanced budget that was passed by the General Assembly in April. Republican priorities include significant investments in rural and behavioral health care, school safety, education and public safety.
State Rep. Jay Reedy represents House District 74, which includes Benton, Houston, Humphreys, Stewart and part of Henry counties. He is chairman of the Joint Commerce, Labor, Transportation and Agriculture Committee and vice-chairman of the Government Operations Committee. He also serves on the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, Local Government Committee, Agriculture and Natural Resources Subcommittee, and the Property and Planning Subcommittee.
