Rep. Dennis Powers announces $528K for road projects in Campbell and Union counties

State Rep. Dennis Powers, R-Jacksboro, this week announced more than $528K in state funds for road projects in Campbell and Union counties.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has awarded a $332,554 contract for safety improvements in Campbell County and a $195,557 contract for a signalization project in Union County.

“Quality infrastructure is vital to every community, and it’s important to continually maintain and improve our roadways,” Powers said. “Significant investments like this will make roads in Campbell and Union counties safer and more efficient, and I look forward to the completion of these important projects. I appreciate TDOT’s commitment to making Tennessee’s roads some of the best in the nation.”

Union County’s signalization project will improve Maynardville Highway intersections at SR-144, Heiskell Road and Main Street. It has an estimated completion on or before May 31, 2025.

The Campbell County safety improvement project will benefit several local roads, with a scheduled completion on or before April 30, 2025.

State Rep. Dennis Powers represents House District 36, which includes Campbell, Union, and part of Claiborne counties. He is chairman of the Banking and Consumer Affairs Subcommittee. He also serves on the Commerce Committee, State Government Committee, Transportation Committee, and Public Service Subcommittee.
