NASHVILLE, Tenn.– State Rep. Ron Gant (R-Rossville) and State Sen. Dolores Gresham (R-Somerville) today announced a $321,570 Community Development Block grant (CDBG) has been awarded to Fayette County for ambulance service improvements.
“Having access to ambulance services can be a matter of life or death,” said Senator Gresham, who strongly supported the grant application. “I am pleased that this grant will support our emergency response efforts.”
“These grant dollars are a small way we can continue to thank and support our emergency services personnel and our first responders for the selfless sacrifices they make as they serve our community,” said Rep. Gant. “I appreciate Sen. Gresham, our Department of Economic and Community Development, as well as our local leaders for their partnership in helping us secure this impactful award.”
The lawmakers made the announcement in conjunction with an announcement by Governor Bill Lee and the Department of Economic and Community Development regarding the award of CDBG grants statewide. The funds were allocated under a procedure authorized by the Tennessee General Assembly. ECD administers the grant program based on priorities set at the local level where community needs are best known.
