MARYVILLE, Tenn. – State Representative Jerome Moon of Maryville has been named the 2020-2021 Aide-de-Camp to Commander-in-Chief Hal Roesch II. Following six years of active duty service in the U.S. Navy, over half of which were overseas, Representative Moon has continued his service in support of his fellow veterans returning from foreign conflict.
Moon is a lifetime member of local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 10855. He served as All-State Commander for the VFW Department of Tennessee in 2015-2016 in addition to serving as Captain of the All-State Team. He was Senior Vice Commander of VFW District Two. Of the appointment, Moon said:
“I am honored to be recognized by the leadership of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and more importantly, I am proud to be a part of such an outstanding organization that does so much for our veterans. The VFW has been unwavering in its devotion to veterans, service members, and their families for 121 years. I look forward to working with leadership and doing my part.”
A VFW Aide-de-Camp serves as a special assistant to the National Commander of the Organization implementing administrative activity benefiting members.
Moon was elected as Chairman of the Veterans Caucus for the State of Tennessee for the last two years, and worked with both the House and Senate to pass legislation that has brought positive changes to Tennessee Veterans and their families.
