NASHVILLE, Tenn.) — Tennessee House Speaker Glen Casada (R-Thompson’s Station) has named State Representative Mary Littleton (R-Dickson) Chair of the House Children & Families Subcommittee.
The 7-person panel will be responsible for all legislation and matters related to Tennessee’s children and families — subjects that have been and will remain priorities for Representative Littleton as a member of our House Republican Caucus.
“Representative Littleton has done an incredible job building strong partnerships with our local leaders throughout Tennessee, which has played a critical role in helping our General Assembly identify and create innovative solutions to better address the unique needs of our citizens in these important areas,” said Speaker Casada. “I know she will be an effective leader of the House Children & Families Subcommittee, and I appreciate her dedication to Tennessee and her service.”
“It is a tremendous honor to be appointed Chair of the House Children & Families Subcommittee by Speaker Casada,” said Representative Littleton. “I have fought to build strong families and safeguard our children throughout my time serving our community and Tennessee. While we have made considerable progress, we have more work ahead of us. My colleagues and I remain committed to protecting the well-being of our current and future Tennessee citizens while also improving their quality of life.”
Representative Littleton was officially sworn in to office on Jan. 8, 2019. She will also serve as a member of the House Judiciary and House State Government Committees, as well as the House Departments & Agencies Subcommittee. Littleton resides in Dickson and represents Tennessee House District 78, which includes Cheatham and part of Dickson Counties.
