(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) — Tennessee House Speaker Glen Casada (R-Thompson’s Station) has named State Representative Tim Rudd (R-Murfreesboro) Chairman of the newly created House Elections & Campaign Finance Subcommittee.

The 5-member subcommittee will be responsible for all matters and legislation related to election and campaign finance.

“Representative Rudd’s knowledge and experience on these important issues make him the ideal person to lead this committee,” said Speaker Casada. “I appreciate his willingness to serve in this distinguished leadership role and as a member of our General Assembly, and I know he and his colleagues will do an incredible job.”

“I am excited to lead the new House Elections & Campaign Finance Subcommittee,” said Representative Rudd. “It is imperative that we streamline election and campaign finance laws in order to provide more clarity for both our candidates, as well as the citizens of Tennessee. I know my colleagues and I will accomplish this important goal in the years ahead.”

“I am pleased that my friend Tim Rudd has been appointed Chairman of the House Elections & Campaign Finance Subcommittee,” said House Majority Leader William Lamberth (R-Cottontown). “His knowledge and experience in these important areas will make him a successful leader of this committee and benefit our entire General Assembly.”

“Tim Rudd is a passionate and dedicated member of our Tennessee General Assembly,” said House Republican Caucus Chairman Cameron Sexton (R-Crossville). “I know he will be an effective leader of the House Elections & Campaign Finance Subcommittee, and I look forward to working with him in this leadership role.”
