Speaker Casada Names Representative Timothy Hill Chairman Of The House Commerce Committee

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) — Tennessee House Speaker Glen Casada (R-Thompson’s Station) today named State Representative Timothy Hill (R-Blountville) Chairman of the House Commerce Committee. Hill previously served as Majority Whip during the 110th General Assembly.

The 18-person House Commerce Committee will be responsible for all matters pertaining to Tennessee commerce. This includes all laws related to business and utilities, as well as legislation concerning banking and lending institutions.

“Representative Hill has an incredible record of legislative excellence during his time serving his community and Tennessee,” said Speaker Casada. “His experience will benefit our entire General Assembly, and I know he will be an effective leader of the House Commerce Committee.”

Representative Timothy Hill will also serve on the House Calendar & Rules Committee, as well as the Business, Utilities, Banking & Investments, and Life & Health Insurance Subcommittees. Hill represents Tennessee House District 3, which includes Johnson, and part of Carter and Sullivan Counties.
