Monies awarded to six organizations to address housing needs in District 7
(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) — State Rep. Matthew Hill (R-Jonesborough) today announced he has partnered with the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) to secure more than $1.4 million in state and federal grant funding for the citizens of Washington County.
The funds will be used to help address housing needs for low-income citizens, and homelessness in House District 7. Recipients and amounts include:
- $400,977 for Dawn of Hope to build six rental units for low-income adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- $722,966 for Eastern Eight CDC for the creation of six new housing units and work with low-income families through budget and homebuyer counseling.
- $80,750 in Emergency Grants for the Fairview Housing Management Corporation to support homeless services.
- $82,365 to Family Promise of Greater Johnson City to enhance homeless services.
- $80,750 for the Salvation Army of Johnson City in Emergency Solutions Grants to fund services that support the homeless population.
- $92,700 in Emergency Solutions funding for the Appalachian Regional Coalition on Homelessness (ARCH).
“These organizations offer important services that support Washington County’s low-income and homeless populations, and they are very deserving of these funding awards,” said Rep. Hill. “I appreciate our Housing Development Agency’s partnership in helping us secure these critical funds, and I will never stop fighting for these types of resources to help address housing needs for the citizens of Washington County.”
