NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Sabi ‘Doc’ Kumar, R-Springfield, announced $23,000 in grant funding was awarded to the Robertson County Historical Society for capital maintenance and improvements.

The funds are part of a $5 million appropriation approved by the General Assembly in the 2024-25 state budget for Tennessee State Museum Capital Maintenance and Improvement program.

“The Robertson County Historical Society has been collecting and preserving our community’s history for nearly 60 years,” Kumar said in a statement. “It is important that we continue to support their efforts so that our history remains protected. I thank the leaders at the Tennessee State Museum for helping the organization’s leaders make necessary improvements.”

The organization operates the Robertson County History Museum in Springfield. Along with collecting and preserving history, their mission is to provide educational and entertaining exhibits, programs and activities for citizens of all ages, according to its website.
