(NASHVILLE) – State Representative Curtis Halford (R-Dyer) today announced that the Town of McLemoresville will receive an $80,677 grant from the Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development (TNECD).
The monies are part of TNECD’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and will be used to help fund protective fire equipment for the town’s volunteer fire department. Grant dollars were allocated under a procedure authorized by the Tennessee General Assembly. ECD administers the CDBG program based on priorities set at the local level where community needs are best known.
“Today’s announcement is great news for our growing community,” said Chairman Halford. “I am extremely grateful for TNECD’s investment because it will enhance the safety of those who risk their lives in order to protect and serve our residents.”
