Assistant Majority Leader is the only Tennessee lawmaker selected for prestigious program
(NASHVILLE) — State Representative David Hawk (R-Greeneville) has been chosen to represent Tennessee at the Council of State Governments (CSG) Henry Toll Fellowship Program Aug. 25-30 in Lexington, Kentucky.
Hawk is the only Tennessee lawmaker participating in the prestigious program. According to the Council of State Governments website, the Toll Fellowship brings together 48 of the nation’s top officials from all three branches of state government across the country for an intensive six-day, five-night leadership boot camp. Sessions are designed to stimulate personal assessment and growth while providing priceless networking and relationship-building opportunities.
Leader Hawk is now in his eighth term as a member of the Tennessee State Legislature. Currently, he is Assistant Majority Leader. His duties include serving as one of the floor leaders in the House chamber, as well as assuming primary responsibility for overseeing Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam’s legislation as it relates to the governor’s agenda priorities.
Additionally, Hawk has worked tirelessly throughout his time in the Tennessee General Assembly in order to find solutions to the difficult issues facing Tennesseans. He is passionate about serving the hardworking families who live in House District 5 and looks forward to this unique opportunity to enhance his leadership skills.
“I am honored and humbled to represent the State of Tennessee as a Toll Fellow,” said Leader Hawk. “By sharing ideas, thoughts, and experiences and learning from other lawmakers across our nation, I believe I will become an even more effective leader. The knowledge gained from this tremendous opportunity will enable me to continue to bring new and innovative ideas to the House chamber that will benefit our entire state and protect Tennessee’s conservative values.”
