(NASHVILLE) — State Representative Jay Reedy (R-Erin) today recognized three academic institutions in District 74 for earning Reward School status from the Tennessee Department of Education.
The status is the top distinction a school can achieve in Tennessee. Recipients include approximately 318 schools in 85 districts — 20 percent of the state’s schools — who have demonstrated improvement in overall student academic achievement as well as student growth for all students and student groups. These institutions are identified and recognized annually by the Department of Education.
Institutions honored in Humphreys and Montgomery Counties include:
- McEwen Elementary School
- Woodlawn Elementary School
- West Creek Elementary School
“To hear that three of our schools have been designated as Reward Schools by the Department of Education is incredible news,” said Representative Reedy. “This achievement is the result of the hard work and dedication of our fine educators, staff, engaged parents, and family members who have prioritized their roles supporting the development of our future leaders. I want to congratulate these important groups, as well as our students on this remarkable accomplishment, and I will continue to prioritize resources that support their needs and help them realize their future academic goals and dreams.”
