(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) — State Representative Matthew Hill (R-Jonesborough) today provided an update on several critical road construction projects in Washington County.
More than a dozen projects are moving forward, and upon their completion, all will enhance safety, support economic growth, and improve the quality of life for area residents.
These include the I-26 interchange at State Route 354 in Washington County, which a contract for construction is scheduled to be let soon. Engineering is also underway for bridge replacement along Old State Route 34 over Little Limestone Creek.
Additionally, the project at the intersection of Bugaboo Springs Road is currently under the right-of-way and/or utility process. This means acquisition of right-of-way or other property, as well as utility relocation has begun.
“It is exciting to see we are making considerable progress on several of our local infrastructure projects,” said Representative Hill. “I appreciate TDOT’s committed partnership as our efforts move forward; I will continue to fight to improve the safety and quality of life for our citizens right here in Washington County.”

Hill is also Chairman of the House Ethics and House Select Committees on Rules, Chairman of the House Tenncare Subcommittee, and a member of the House Calendar & Rules, House Finance, Ways, & Means, House Health, and House Insurance Committees, as well as the House Finance, Ways, & Means and Public Health Subcommittees. Hill lives in Jonesborough and represents Tennessee House District 7, which includes part of Washington County.
