(NASHVILLE) — State Representative Ron Gant (R-Rossville) and State Senator Dolores Gresham (R-Somerville) today announced that Monogram Refrigeration, LLC is creating 210 new jobs by expanding its manufacturing facility in Selmer, Tennessee.
A leading producer of upscale refrigerators, freezers, and other refrigeration products, Monogram is making a $9.3 million investment in the facility by adding 120,000 square feet to the existing building in McNairy County. This expansion project will enable Monogram to begin creating packaged terminal air conditioners (PTACs) in addition to a new line of column-style refrigerators and freezers.
The company has been located in Selmer since 1986.
“Monogram’s continued investment in our community is tremendous news for our long-term economic future,” said Representative Gant. “The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) lists McNairy as a Tier 4 Distressed county; this means there is a tremendous need for new job creation. This commitment made by Monogram will help meet the employment demands of more of the hardworking men and women who live in District 94 and enable our region to experience the type of economic growth that other parts of our state have seen in recent years.”
“I am delighted about the new jobs coming into McNairy County as a result of the expansion of Monogram Refrigeration’s manufacturing facility,” said Senator Gresham who represents the county in the State Senate. “Companies are recognizing that both our workers and our community are prepared for the future and want to expand or locate here. This is a large investment in our area and will have a positive impact on many other businesses throughout our community. I congratulate Monogram and applaud all who were involved in helping bring these jobs home.”
Monogram is a subsidiary of GE Appliances (GEA), a Haier company, and a leading manufacturer of household appliances. For more information, please visit: http://www.monogram.com/refrigerators/
