The Tennessee State Employee Association’s political action committee, Tennessee Employee Action Movement (TEAM-PAC,) announced it has endorsed Matthew Hill for the 7th District seat in the House of Representatives.
“Matthew Hill has been there when state employees needed him the most. He really knows how to get the job done for his district and our members. He listens to us and conveys our needs,” said Bryan Merritt, East Tennessee Field Representative for TSEA.
Hill, a Jonesborough Republican first elected in 2004, welcomed TSEA’s endorsement.
“I’m so proud to have the support of our hardworking employees who keep the Volunteer State functioning and operating efficiently with the services they provide,” Hill said. “I look forward to continuing our partnership and working together for a prosperous Tennessee.”
TEAM-PAC is the political action arm of the Tennessee State Employees Association. Founded in 1974, TSEA represents the rights and interests of 40,000 state employees in Tennessee and has a rich history of improving the lives of its state employee members. Hill has received strong support from around the state and in Washington County. Other endorsements include: National Federal of Independent Business, National Rifle Association, Gov. Bill Lee and Johnson City Firefighters Association Local 1791.
The 7th House District seat includes the eastern portion of Washington County. Early voting begins Friday, July 17 and runs through Saturday, Aug. 1. Election Day is Thursday, Aug. 6.
