State Rep. Tandy Darby announces $1.3 million for infrastructure, safety improvements in the cities of Greenfield and Paris

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Tandy Darby, R-Greenfield, announced $1.34 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding has been awarded to the cities of Greenfield and Paris for local infrastructure and safety improvements.

The CDBG program, administered by the Tennessee Economic and Community Development (TNECD), aims to assist communities with water and sewer improvements along with health and safety projects.

“Grants like these allow local leaders to make important updates and improvements to enhance the quality of life for our citizens,” Darby said in a statement. “I’m grateful for the support from TNECD and I look forward to seeing the positive impact these awards have on our communities.”

The city of Greenfield was awarded $622,168 to help with replacing water meters.

The city of Paris was awarded $717,600 to make ADA accessibility improvements at Eiffel Tower Park.

Forty communities across the state received CDBG funds, totaling $26.6 million, according to TNECD.

In addition to traditional community improvement and safety projects, funding was also made available for community development projects, such as sidewalk and walking trail improvements, street paving and community centers.
