(NASHVILLE) — State Representative Ron Gant (R-Rossville) today announced three grant awards from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) totaling $55,000 for House District 94.
The monies are a part of TNECD’s ThreeStar Competitive Grant program. The funding will be used for a variety of local programs addressing economic development, public safety, health, education, and workforce development.
To be eligible, each community had to demonstrate that it met program requirements in five key areas: jobs and economic development, fiscal strength and efficient government, public safety, health, education and workforce development.
In total, 63 Tennessee counties received ThreeStar grants. Amounts and recipients in House District 94 include:
- $25,000 for McNairy County
- $25,000 for Hardeman County
- $5,000 for Fayette County
“The investments made by TNECD in District 94 is tremendous news for the residents in our communities,” said Representative Gant. “Like many regions in Tennessee, our counties continue to experience extraordinary growth. With this population increase, some of our resources have been overextended. These grant dollars will ensure that our communities are able to keep up with the growing demands of our residents.”
Approximately $975,000 has been awarded to Tennessee communities by the TNECD through this round of grants.
