State Representative Ron Gant Partners With TDOT To Address Vegetation Maintenance Issues In District 94

(NASHVILLE) — State Representative Ron Gant (R-Rossville) today announced he is partnering with members of the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) to address vegetation maintenance issues in District 94.

Over the past several weeks, Gant has spoken with the citizens of his community about the overgrowth of grass along Highway 57, Highway, 64, Highway 194, and Highway 196 and the safety hazards the tall vegetation has created with the beginning of deer mating season.

Area residents have recently noticed a slight increase in the number of deer inhabiting the overgrown vegetation along these local roadways in recent weeks. Representative Gant understands the dangers they pose to area motorists and is working with TDOT to create an immediate solution to eliminate a potential safety issue.

“The current vegetation height alongside our area highways is increasing the likelihood of deer entering our roads during peak traffic hours and motorists not being able to immediately recognize their presence,” said Representative Gant. “Rest assured, we will resolve this issue quickly in order to reduce the likelihood of future incidents involving motorists and deer in District 94.”

Ron Gant serves as Assistant Majority Floor Leader. He is also a member of the House Health Committee and the House Calendar and Rules Committee, as well as the House Insurance & Banking Sub and Full Committees. Gant lives in Rossville and represents House District 94, which includes Fayette, McNairy, and part of Hardeman County. He can be reached by email at: [email protected] or by calling (615) 741-6890.
